Guido Donati is Professor of Organ at "Conservatorio di Torino" and he is very active as concert artist not only with organ but also with harpsichord and fortepiano. Moreover He is very interested in jazz and, generally speaking, in the improvisation. As a composer, he has written about one hundred musical works for different kinds of instruments (particularly a ballet and two concerts for organ and orchestra). Concerning musicology, some years ago He developed a study about canons construction techniques, defining general tables for the construction of canons based on "cantus firmus".
Pier Paolo Strona (see presentation)
Guido Donati and
Pier Paolo Strona share the same spirit: in each of their activities: the researcher attitude is innate in their approach to the problems. They are pushed towards new goals by the desire to explore new frontiers, to try to understand more and to communicate their emotions and results. Bach music and particularly "Goldberg Variations" are surely a worthy topic to devote themelves and some part of their life in this sense.
